Gloves

Gloves are weapons that you can choose at age 1. They have fast attack and movement speeds but a small melee range and average damage. Its damage can be further increased with the Cheek Protection hat.

Gloves have a unique ability known as 'Knockout', which gives the wearer a 25% base chance to stun their enemy if they successfully perform a 'combo'. To perform a combo, the wearer has to successfully hit an individual enemy Tamon or Tamer 3 times in a row without interruption. The chances of inflicting a 'Knockout' can be increased from 25% to 50% with the Cheek Protection hat.

A 'Knockout' will block the Skills of the Tamon it affects from activating. A successful Skill block will be clearly indicated by an icon of the Skill graying and then shattering above the Tamon who has tried to activate its Skill.

A 'Knockout' will also force a rider Tamer off their mount Tamon if either the rider or the mount is affected.

Advice[]

Try to accumulate combos to increase your chances of activating the 'Knockout' ability.
The Steak and any subsequent food upgrades best complement the Gloves.
You can use the 'Knockout' as an opportunity to inflict more damage on the enemy Tamon or Tamer, or to escape, since movement speed of Tamon or Tamers will drastically decrease when stunned.
While it is difficult to determine the Skill cooldown of most Tamon, try to hit the Tamon repeatedly in order to increase the chances of potentially blocking their Skill. This will be slightly easier if the Tamon in particular has been tamed by a Tamer -- the Skill activation is controlled and more predictable!
Shields of any kind will protect its user Tamer from the 'Knockout' stun -- bear this in mind!
Buy and equip the 8k gold Cheek Protection hat to give you more defense, damage, and a chance to activate 'Knockout'.
Keep close to the enemy and keep hitting them to drain their resources and force heals.

Trivia[]

The gloves were first introduced into Taming.io on 17/10/2022, originally intended as an overpowered but temporary weapon as part of the Taming.io Anniversary Event. It was an expansion of the previous year's anniversary event, where Tamers' fists were boosted in damage by the default Party Hat and in resource gathering.
During the time of its release, the Gloves' damage against enemy Tamon and bosses were double their damage against regular Tamers, and the damage dealt was further boosted by the anniversary-exclusive Party Hat.
Due to the gloves' popularity, LapaMauve released a Discord poll a day after the anniversary event to decide whether or not to keep the Gloves by balancing them or remove the Gloves after the end of the event. Majority chose the former, so the gloves became a permanent weapon of the game (after some rebalancing, of course!)
The Amber, Diamond and Emerald gloves are the first amber, diamond and emerald weapons to ever have custom descriptions when selected. They are a reference to Thanos' famous lines from the movies Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame.
