Taming.io Wiki
If you are looking for a sortable table containing a general overview of all animal stats, refer to the sortable animals list.

Animals (also known as Tamons) are the main part of the game. They can be tamed and have special abilities, types, stats, and sometimes other advantages and disadvantages (such as the inability to be mounted) that allow for a big diversity in playstyles, synergy, and combinations. There are 3 levels animals can be found at: baby, adult, and boss levels. Note that each animal evolution is 3x stronger than the last one.

Mechanics

Taming Animals

Throughout the game, sleeping baby animals can be tamed, with a base taming chance that can be increased with the Appletor or the Slingshot, as well as the Tamer's Cap. Once tamed, they will become friendly to its owner, and their XP can increase by killing other animals, players and bosses to increase their age. Upon taming, they will increase your overall taming count, which are used to unlock pets. When any pet (except starter pets) reaches 50 tames, they will be unlocked permanently for the player to use at any time, whenever they want. The only exceptions are the three already unlocked starter pets, the Wolf, Rabbit & Bear, which do not need 50 tames to use. Besides in-game, tames can also be obtained by buying from pet chests and using certain potions in the Shop.

Note that there are no other ways to increase taming chances in-game aside from using the Tamer's Cap, Appletor, and Slingshot.

Big Mamma Bosses

These giant animals rarely appear on the map and will be found sleeping; when woken up, they will relentlessly hunt down the player. BMBs have much more health than its boss level counterpart, and uses their abilities much more frequently. When defeated, they will give the player who defeated it a large amount of Food and Gold.

Regeneration

Every pet has a regen speed and a regen points stat. After [regen speed] seconds, the pet will start regenerating [regen points] every game tick. For example, if the pet has a regen speed of 7s and regen points of 10, then after 7 seconds the pet will regenerate 10 health points every game tick. The highest regeneration stat (when it heals the most per tick) is 5 health points.

Attack Speed

In general, animals that bite attacks once every second. Other animals, such as Reapers, Plant Statue, Fire Statue and Water Statue have different attack speeds, but with adjusted attack damage to compensate it.

Pets

An animal that has been tamed by a player is called a pet. It will follow the player's orders and be friendly towards him and his teammates.

Spawning

The player has the option to spawn into the game with 1, 2, or 3 pets of their choice, depending on their badge (or none at all). According to your badge, you can get the following pets at the start of the game:

Unlocking

You can get pet cards from a variety of ways. These include:

  • Taming them in-game
  • Opening Pet Chests
  • Obtained from potions

All other animals require 50 pet cards to unlock 1 starter pet, 100 pet cards to unlock 2 starter pets and 150 pet cards to unlock 3 starter pets.

Pet Chests

Pet Chests can be used to obtain pets without having to tame pets. There are three types of chests, which include:

  • A normal chest, that can be brought for 500 Golden Apple). Regularly used to unlock any type of pet, but a slight chance of obtaining a boss pet and a mere chance of obtaining an event pet.
  • An ancient chest, that can be brought for 2500 Golden Apple. That cannot give any pet that the player already owns. But however has a higher chance of obtaining a boss pet and a slight chance of obtaining an event pet. It is not recommended to use ancient chests in early-game due to it being useless unless the player wants rarer pets.
  • A specific biome chest, that can be brought for 1000 Golden Apple. That can only give pets in the specific biome, this is often used to unlock a specific common, event, or boss pet. The biome chest does not have an increased chance.

Locating Pets

Pets can spawn from a variety of different ways. These include:

  • Spawning naturally at any time of the year (Common pets)
  • Spawning naturally but only at certain times of the year (Event pets [Legendary])
  • Spawning once a specific boss is killed (Boss pets and fairies ([Legendary])
  • Spawning by buying it from a totem (Masks [Legendary pets])
  • Obtained from spawning using a specific potion (Potion pets [Special])

Skins

Animals may have none or up to 5 different skins. By default, you have one skin unlocked, and can buy the other available skins with Golden Apples. Skins that can be purchased under any circumstances cost 1,500 Golden Apples, while skins that can be acquired only with a certain level cost 1,000 to 1,500 golden apples. However, skins will not affect your gameplay, except for the Cratodon skins, which buffs defense and can be unlocked by different tiers of Overbreeds.

Pet Level System

The Pet Level System encompasses all mechanics related to leveling up pets. As a whole, they allow the player to strengthen unlocked pets by increasing one of their primary stats: weight, speed, health, attack, regeneration points, and regeneration speed. A pet can be leveled up until level 60, after which it can be overbred, zeroing all its points but giving 20 permanent ones, up to a maximum of 30 overbreeds.

Stats

Every animal has its unique statistics, statistics can range from affecting the span of an ability to the speed of your pet. They possess varied abilities and attacks, and you can view their statistics on their respective pages.
